[edit] Personality

To put it bluntly, Kazuma is a rash, short-tempered, and straight-forward person. Growing up without any ties to society has made Kazuma believe that if he wants something, the only way to get it is with his own two hands. This includes money, power, and self-respect.

However, he has no aspirations to use his power for more than the bare essentials: to fight, and to earn money. Nonetheless, he's also not the kind of person to conform to what society throws at him, much less if he doesn't like it. And he won't hide that fact either. Kazuma is the kind of person that won't hesitate to call you out on your shit, especially if you're too ignorant to see it. It plays into his stubborn and straight-forward nature. He simply wants to get by and be left alone, in a sense, although the only exception to this is his slowly-but-surely growing hatred toward the military organization known as HOLY. This only made worse by the fact that he doesn't care about himself, so the word reckless can also be used to describe him.

Despite that however, he's been shown to care deeply for a few individuals, namely Yuta Kanami (his housemate) and Kimishima Kunihiko (his manager). However, he's never allowed himself to show this side of him in public, or even in private, and has instead cultivated two images. One where he's Kanami's immature slacker housemate, who doesn't really care too much about anything other than getting by, and another where he's the Alter user with no attachments that will do anything for money; 1st Degree Criminal NP3228 to HOLY. Two different sides of himself that make up the whole.

Being an Alter user, Kazuma has the unique ability to deconstruct, reshape, and crystallize matter at a molecular level using only thought and willpower. With him however, it manifests itself by transforming his right arm into what is essentially a weapon. The arm is covered by a metallic orange alloy which allows him to deliver powerful pressurized punches, and allows for limited flight. Using this power, he earns his money by doing mercenary jobs.

However, this power comes in stages. In its first form, the arm is split right down the middle into three different sections. It's then tied together by yellow metallic bands and reformed, then covered in a metallic orange alloy. In the back of his shoulder, three red fins form, each one dissolving as Kazuma uses his "shell bullets". The dissolved fin also causes him to be propelled forward, giving him limited flight and increased momentum.

First Fin - Shocking First Bullet
Second Fin - Annihilating Second Bullet
Third Fin - Exterminating Last Bullet

In his second form, the arm is completely deconstructed, then reformed into an armored arm once more. However, the armor is different, and much thicker. His right eye is also surrounded by three metallic orange fins. The shoulder fins however, are replaced by a propeller, making his limited flight much more controllable. He can also fire infinite "shell bullets" in this form, although they take a toll on his body if he overexerts himself.

[edit] Relationships

  • Lavi — Okay, so when he first arrived, Lavi helped him out. Explained the situation the best he could, directed him to a safer location, the works. The guy's alright. He doesn't talk down to him, so that's a plus. He helped around when the satellite blew up too, so that's another plus. Still, Kazuma's slightly uncomfortable with the fact that he's starting to consider the guy a friend, if only because of who it reminds him of.
  • Vidia — Annoying Bitch Number One. To put it plain and simple, she's a bitch. She's loud, annoying, insulting, and doesn't know when to shut the hell up. Still, at least she's not boring. To an extent, the both of them treat their insults like it was a game, and they're both very well aware of this.
  • Prussia — So fucking annoying it hurts. He keeps talking about claiming land, and instilling order. Not only that, but the smug arrogant way he talks about it pisses Kazuma off to the same degree HOLY does... almost. The fact that Prussia doesn't understand a word of Japanese keeps Kazuma from taking him seriously.
  • Anemone — She wanted someone to punch Prussia in the face, and that was something Kazuma was more than willing to do. At least, that's how they met anyway. Soon afterward, he pretty much learned that Anemone was the kind of girl that needed to be looked after, if only because she didn't know how to do it herself. So, he's keeping an eye on her.
  • Kagome Higurashi — She's alright. At the very least, she's not a bitch. In reality, she acts so innocent and nice that it pisses him off, but only superficially. She's the kind of person that he doesn't want to see killed. Ever.
  • Aragaki Shinjiro — Bar guy. He seems pretty chill, for the most part, and Kazuma likes that. It makes him pretty approachable, which he guesses is a good thing if the guy manages a bar. He offered Kazuma a job as a bartender, although he only shows up to work on occasion. They're on the same wavelength when it comes to Anemone, too.
  • Yoko Littner — Annoying Bitch Number Two. First thing she did? Insult him and look down on him. Not the best first impression to make with someone like Kazuma. Still, she reacts so strongly to his insults that it amuses him, somewhat. So, she gets away with it so long as she continues to react like that. Still, the insults are more a superficial front at this point.
  • Logan — He's teaching Kazuma how to speak English. That's... about it.
  • Ichigo Momomiya — Too damn young and innocent to be in a place like Discedo. The first time he met her, she was dying due to the satellite explosion, and it left a really bad gut feeling in his stomach. She came back, but that didn't change the fact that she essentially triggered all the protective traits that only surfaced around Kanami. Nonetheless, he's trying to ignore them.
